Dear Parents, Students and Teachers,
I roll out a red carpet to welcome you to this new academic year 2017-2018.
Great indeed are the works of the Lord.
I am thankful to God for being gracious to us and gracing us with 100% result. My sincere appreciation to all of you dear teachers for the dedicated hard-work and cooperation.
“Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all” says Aristotle.
We need transformation of hearts. We are living in a realm where people see education as a means of climbing the social and economic ladder.
Once they were the temples of learning. But Today they have become places of commerce, controversy, unhealthy competition, agents of division and inequality. This is the challenge we face in the modern education system. How can we transform this existing order? Education should become a loving relationship. Education in Nirmala makes a difference in the lives of our students. Forming them as socially conscious and politically responsible citizens of our great country. The various programmes organized in the school both curricular and co-curricular activities help them to become better human persons.
In the pursuit of making learning a loving relationship, there is so much to see, so much to know and so much to experience. Possibilities are endless to become anything to do anything even to change the world. We need to learn to forgive people and even give them a chance to correct their mistakes. Learn to respect everyone, trust everyone and most importantly ….. love every one.
Life is very short to be shy. We should live our today, as though it is the last day to live. Think about the future, but don’t worry about it; think about the past, but don’t get lost in it. “Look at the birds in the sky, they do not sow, they do not harvest nor do they store food in barns and yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than birds?” (Mt.6:26). Thus our education should make us free . Free from the worries of tomorrow.
I take the opportunity to bid a warm adieu to our outgoing batch of Class X students on successful completion of their studies. I am confident that they will hold Nirmala flag high wherever they are.
Once again I extend a warm and hearty welcome to each one of you to this new academic year 2017-2018.
May , Nirmala Matha, our Patron Saint be our strength, support and guide.
God bless us !
